My Georgia license

I live in Florida, so Georgia licenses me as a non-resident, and the Georgia record says so: Non-Resident Agent. Both lines on it were first issued October 2, 2009.

What my Georgia license covers

Georgia lists two lines on my license: life, and accident and sickness. Together that means health and life coverage.

How that coverage works

These explain how each kind of coverage works in general. They don't list which plans are sold in your area.

Medigap in Georgia

Your Medigap Open Enrollment Period lasts six months and starts the first month you have Medicare Part B and you're 65 or older. During it you can buy any Medigap policy sold in your state, and the insurance company can't deny you coverage because of pre-existing health problems. It doesn't repeat every year.

Those are your federal rights. Your state can add more chances to buy a Medigap policy under state law, including before 65, so it pays to ask. In Georgia, ask Georgia SHIP or the Commissioner's office.
